Sept. 8, 2007

(DELAWARE, Ohio) - Capital's Molly Sheils scored the game's only goal as the Crusaders edged Ohio Wesleyan in the Bishops' home opener on Saturday at Roy Rike Field.

Ohio Wesleyan outshot Capital, 8-4, in the first half, but the Bishops were not able to turn the shot advantage into a go-ahead goal. Crusader keeper Sherry Lyle had two stops in the period, while Bishop senior Ali Gary (1 - Gahanna/Lincoln) was just as effective, recording one save on the four Capital shots she faced.

The difference came in the 57th minute, when Sheils took a pass from Laura Shields in front of the Bishop goal and put the ball into the back of the net. Ohio Wesleyan outshot Capital, 15-8. Gary finished with three saves for the Bishops, while Lyle had four saves in the Crusader goal.
