While at Ohio Wesleyan:  A solid and consistent player for the Bishops who has started at midfielder over the last two seasons....2006: Started in 4 of 12 games for the Bishops….had one assist for a total of one point for the season.... eye injury cut her season short....2005: Started four and played in ten games in her first season as a Bishop.

Club: Played on 4 different club teams in Florida over 5 years. Played in Florida State Cup for Countryside Lighting 2001, Hillsborough United 2002, Countryside Lighting 2003, Clearwater Chargers 2004. Her Hillsborough United 2005 team went to Florida final four.

 

High School:  Was a four year starter and captain senior year for East Lake High School, was voted Most Valuable Player as a senior by her teammates. Played on ELHS teams that were Florida District 9 runner-up soccer title in 2005, 2004 and 2003. District champions 2002.  2005 Named 2^nd team all Pinellas County as a midfielder. Named Athlete of the Month in February 2005 by the St. Petersburg Times.

 

Personal: Daughter of Paul and Ellen Steger....has older brother Rob....Emily lists her five favorite things as Maggie and Peanut (pets), her Dad's cooking, travel (especially to Italy), shopping with her friends and Mom and of course soccer.  Was high school's yearbook editor and class vice president senior year. Spent the summer of 2006 in New York as an intern on Wall Street. May pursue a career in business writing or law.
